Regional Centres of Excellence – ReCeEx selected
As part of the project, Circular migrations before depopulation! conducted by the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics (FREN) and European Policy Centre (CEP), the evaluation jury composed of representatives of FREN, CEP and Returning Point selected the following civil society organisations (CSOs) for Regional Centers of Excellence (ReCeEx):
- 1. Sombor Educational Centre for the Northern region of Serbia
- 2. Centre for Education and Transparency – CETRA for Eastern Serbia
- 3. Civil Society Development Centre – PROTECTA for Southern Serbia
- 4. Ibar Development Association for Southwest Serbia
In the coming period, the tasks of the Regional Centers will be to implement the process of regional consultations with citizens, civil society organisations and circular migrants, participate in meetings with relevant stakeholders regarding the preparation of regional action documents in the field of circular migration, create regional action documents in the field of circular migration, organise meetings with representatives of relevant local self-governments regarding the implementation of recommended public policies, and most importantly, provide continuous support to circular migrants locally.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the other organisations that participated in the competition and to encourage and invite them to participate in the process of regional consultations that will be conducted by the Regional Centers, all to formulate a list of recommendations for improving the overall local environment for circular migrants.
The competition was conducted as part of the project Circular migration before depopulation! Innovative solutions for encouraging circular migration as a pillar of increased competitiveness and economic development. One of the goals of this project is to build the capacity of local CSOs to participate in the process of supporting circular migrants and returnees, as well as proposing public policies at the national and local level to better integrate them.
