Serbia’s pursuit of interest in the EU – Administrative, Financial and Lobbying Capacities

This research project addresses an under-researched topic of Serbian administrative, diplomatic, political and lobbying capacities towards the main EU institutions. The Study(and the Policy Brief) explored the current state of Serbian capacities and key shortcomings. It also provided recommendations for improvement of such capacities, in order to ensure a greater success rate of Serbia on its path to the EU. The results of this study are intended for Serbian decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders.

This project is funded by the Open Society Initiative for Europe (Think Tank Fund of the Open Society Foundations) through its Young Professional Development Programme. As part of the programme, fellow researcher Strahinja Subotić has joined CEP team and he was engaged in the research.

The Think Tank Young Professional Development Programme intends to help think tanks from Central and Eastern Europe to attract recent graduate and post-graduate students of social sciences, giving them an opportunity to attain the first-hand experience in policy research.
