Breaking down Serbia’s 2022 Constitutional Amendments

On that day, the citizens of Serbia will be able, with YES or NO, to answer the question “Are you in favour of confirming the Draft Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia” and thus potentially accept or reject the proposed constitutional changes.

What will the judiciary look like if the constitutional changes are accepted? Who will elect judges and public prosecutors in the future? How will the High Judicial Council and the High Prosecutorial Council be organised? What are the most important proposed changes, and what, in the opinion of the Venice Commission, has not been resolved and remains controversial?
