Vida Uzelac
Vida Uzelac is a coordinator of the Working group for Chapter 4 (Free movement of capital) and 9 (Financial Services) of the National Convention of the EU (NCEU), on behalf of European Policy Centre - CEP. She is also a member of Presidency of Serbian Association of Economists and a member of Serbian Association of Corporate Directors. Ms Uzelac was born in Belgrade where she graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Economics, and is fluent in the English language. Ms Uzelac started her career in the Chief Administrating Agency of Yugoslavia and continued in the Agency for Clearing and Settlement of Yugoslavia. In 2000 she started working in the National Bank of Yugoslavia (later National Bank of Serbia) where she organized and established the institution of Central Securities Depository and Clearing House of Serbia (CSD&CH) that became independent in 2003. Mrs. Uzelac was a founder and the first director of CSD&CH from 2003 to 2013, and also a President/member of the Board. Ms Uzelac was responsible for establishing and developing an independent regulatory institution and defining rules and procedures in compliance with domestic legislation and international standards. Ms Uzelac enabled membership of CSD & CH in international securities associations and was a member of the Board of Directors of European Central Securities Depositaries Association (ECSDA). From November 2013 till July 2014, she was the acting director of the Privatization Agency of Serbia. She also served as a member of the Board of Public Enterprise Ski Resorts of Serbia. Her professional activities also involved participating as a lecturer in the Brokerage course organized by the Securities Commission; consultant for the Council of Europe on the Project on Criminal Assets Recovery in Serbia, and OSCE expert on Project: „Fight against organized crime and corruption‟. She is a Member of the Women’s Government of Serbia, a non-profit organization promoting women in high professional positions in the public sector. She published papers in academic journals of business, economics, and management; participated in international and domestic conferences. Now working as a consultant.
