On this occasion, Milena Lazarević emphasised the importance of these regulations in the light of EU accession negotiations of Serbia as well as for gaining benefits of the EU membership in the future. Improvement of public policy management system of the Government within the policy making process necessitates establishment of adequate legal and institutional framework for strategic management and planning of public administration bodies in accordance with strategic priorities of the Government and programme budgeting. These activities are envisaged by the Action Plan for implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy for the period 2014-2017.
Round table discussion titled “Support system for policy planning and decision making” took place on August 28, 2015, at the National Bank of Serbia. The topics of discussion of the key stakeholders were the Draft law on planning system in the Republic of Serbia as well as draft regulations on methodologies for public policy management and mid-term planning of public administration bodies was held. Kori Udovički, vice-president of the Government and minister of state administration and local self-government, Dušan Vujović, minister of finance and Jasna Atanasijević, director of the Public Policy Secretariat took part in the discussion together with members of academic and expert communities.
