SUMMARY:Presidency Handover: From Cyprus to Ireland
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a timely discussion on the handover of the EU Council Presidency from Cyprus to Ireland. We will reflect on the challenges and opportunities shaping the enlargement agenda during the Cypriot Presidency in the first half of 2026, and explore what lies ahead under the Irish Presidency in the second half of 2026. This conversation takes place against the backdrop of continued momentum in the Western Balkans accession process, as the Union moves forward with pre-enlargement policy reviews, simplification of the enlargement framework, and assessments of post-accession safeguard mechanisms. Drawing on insights from Brussels, Nicosia, Dublin, and Belgrade, we will discuss how candidate countries can best leverage current developments in response to the growing strategic imperative for timely and credible enlargement.\n
